So if you read my blog/twitter, you’ll know that I recently made a new friend – Lauren, aka loulabellerose. Well, me and Lauren decided we wanted to treat each other, and firstly set a £25 budget to do a box swap. After a bit of debate, the price kept going up and up and we eventually settled on £50 because we’re both so damn generous.
Here’s what Lauren treated me too…
Lauren suggested that we get friendship bracelets (because adults are allowed them too!!). We told each other that our favourite metal was rose gold, obviously – because we’re both millennials, and went on the hunt for the perfect bracelets for one another. I told Lauren I’d found one for £14, and she said she’d also found one for £14.
We thought it was hilarious, and were convinced we’d chosen the exact same bracelet. So we ended up spoiling the surprise and comparing bracelet finds. We didn’t end up choosing the same bracelet, so we just ruined the surprise factor with this present. But we did choose our favourite together in the end, which means we have matching friendship bracelets. How grown up of us!
BITS AND PIECES
How cute is this bee keyring? It definitely deserved it’s own close up.
Lauren said she decided to get my presents from individual shops around Edinburgh, which I love. It means that I wasn’t expecting any of them, and I know that she took the time to go out and shop for me (rather than doing the majority online from bed like I did).
She also got me a pin badge saying ‘office slut’, and while purchasing this, the man serving her asked if she wanted to put it straight onto her work lanyard (karma!).
Are you really a blogger if you don’t own a marble notebook? Well, now I officially own one thanks to Lauren. The funny thing is, I brought her two marble notebooks, but she doesn’t know that yet because she hasn’t opened her box at the time I’m writing this. Great minds think alike/great bloggers think alike because we all love marble.
I’ve been seeing Lauren raving about Seventeen’s concealer and foundation over the past couple of weeks and was intrigued to try them as I haven’t used anything from the brand before. Lauren read my mind and included their concealer, in ‘extra fair’ of course because she knows that I’m a ghost. I can’t wait to try this, and will keep you all posted if I love it as much as she does.
ALL THE PROSECCO
Lauren knows that I love prosecco, and she’s only met me twice. So I was overjoyed when I found not one, but TWO prosecco themed gifts in my box. The sweets were gone within two minutes of photographing, and the candle should hopefully last slightly longer because it’s not edible.
LAST, BUT DEFINITELY NOT LEAST
Lauren included a cute ‘read me’ note in the box and it nearly made me cry. She knows that I’m desperate to get my hands on Blogosphere magazine, especially after her recent post ‘For bloggers, by bloggers‘ about why the magazine is so great. She also knows that I was sad because I couldn’t afford a subscription yet (mainly because I spent £50+ buying presents for her hahah!). So she surprised me to a year’s subscription to the magazine. How amazing is she!
I just want to say a big thank you to Lauren for all of my amazing gifts. You’re the best, and somehow already know me so well (apart from the ‘office slut’ badge of course. I hope that one was a joke).
Find out what I got for Lauren in her post here.
